\nAndrew is an environmental and social safeguard (ESS) specialist with 10+ years of professional experience in Environment, Social & Governance (ESG), Environmental Management, Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) compliance, Risk Assessments, and Environmental & Social Due Diligence (ESDD). Acquired further professional training in Climate Change Mitigation & Adaptation, Environmental & Social Impact Assessment (ESIA), EMS 14001, QMS 9001, HACCP, and Risk assessment. Professionally registered and licensed as a NEMA Lead Expert, NITA approved trainer and Travelife Auditor for Tourism accommodation facilities and Tour operators in East Africa.<\/p>\n

Andrew, is well-seasoned in the application of EHS compliance having worked on projects funded by multilateral and bilateral development financial institutions (DFIs) such as the World Bank through IDA & IFC, AFD, AfDB amongst others. He has also worked and consulted in EHS within Eastern Africa (Kenya, Rwanda, Ethiopia and Tanzania) for approximately 500 high, medium and low risk infrastructure projects (roads, railway, power transmission), waste management, hydropower, housing & commercial developments, and sustainability in the tourism & agricultural sector. His skills vary widely with respect to program coordination & management, environmental compliance & auditing, project management, and monitoring & evaluation. Also, Andrew is well versed in training and facilitation skills having worked as an EIA & GIIP trainer with trainees in both middle and top management.<\/p>\n

Andrew enjoys travelling, watching documentaries, and photography! He holds a BSc in Environmental Studies (Community Development) from Kenyatta University (Kenya), an Msc. in Environmental Management from South Eastern Kenya University and is an alumni of Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI) on Climate Change \u2013 Mitigation and Adaptation.
