Andrew Karanja
Andrew is an experienced ISO Management Systems, eco-labeling certification and environmental management consultant having completed assignments for various clients straddling from both the public and private sector. These include Eco-Mark Africa, TraveLife International, Government of Kenya (Ministry of Finance), County Council of Othaya, Nyeri County Council, Dentex Industries Limited, Syna Med & Syna Medica Pharmaceuticals Ltd among others. He has worked for Ecotourism Kenya as a certification Program Officer, and Millennium Management Consultants (MMCAfrica).
Andrew has implemented over 250 eco-certification and health & safety audits for leading hotels chains in East Africa including Serena Hotels, Sarova Hotels, Heritage Hotels, Sun Africa Hotels, Sopa Lodges, Kempinski Hotels, Campi ya Kanzi, Cheli and Peacock, Elewana Hotels and Camps among others. He is passionate about eco-labeling certification, environmental management, responsible tourism, ISO standards and health & safety.
Andrew enjoys travelling to nature conservation areas, watching documentaries, and photography! He holds a BSc in Environmental Studies (Community Development) from Kenyatta University (Kenya) and a Msc. in Environmental Management from South Eastern Kenya University. He is an active member of Ecotourism Kenya and the Managing Partner at Anchor Consultants.
